The grand celebrations that define our temple's spiritual calendar — each festival a magnificent expression of devotion, tradition, and community.
April (Chaitra Shukla Navami)
Sri Rama Navami
The Samaj's grand annual celebration honouring the divine birth of Lord Sri Rama. The 2026 Mahothsavam was observed over ten days, from March 27 to April 5, with bhajans, Ramayana chanting, special worship, Sita Rama Kalyanam, Swarna Jhoola and Annadanam for devotees.
September / October (Ashwin Shukla Pratipada to Dashami)
Navaratri & Vijayadashami
Nine nights of divine celebration dedicated to the Supreme Mother Goddess. The temple resonates with the powerful Shatha Chandi Maha Yagnam, classical Carnatic music concerts by renowned artistes, and mesmerising Bharatanatyam performances. The traditional Bommai Kolu display — an elaborate arrangement of dolls and figurines depicting mythological themes — adorns the temple. Saraswati Pooja and Vidyarambham (initiation of children into learning) are highlights of this sacred festival.
During Sri Rama Navami & Special Occasions
Swarna Jhoola Ceremony
One of the most visually stunning and spiritually uplifting rituals at our temple. The sacred idols of the deities are adorned with the magnificent Swarna Kavachum (gold shield) and placed reverently on a golden swing (jhoola). As priests chant Vedic mantras and devotional songs fill the air, the deities are gently swung, creating a scene of extraordinary divine beauty that leaves devotees spellbound.
August / September (Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi)
Vinayaka Chaturthi
A grand celebration of Lord Ganesha, the beloved remover of obstacles and harbinger of auspicious beginnings. The festivities include special Abhishekam with sacred substances, elaborate Sahasranama Archana (chanting of the thousand names), and the offering of Modaka Nivedhyam — the favourite sweet of Lord Ganapathy. The temple is beautifully decorated, and the air is filled with the fragrance of flowers and devotion.
April (Chaitra Purnima)
Hanuman Jayanti
Special celebrations honouring Sri Anjaneya — the embodiment of devotion, strength, and selfless service. The day is marked by Sundara Kanda Parayanam (recitation of the beautiful chapter of Ramayana), special Abhishekam to our Sri Anjaneya shrine, and chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. Devotees gather to seek the blessings of the mighty devotee of Lord Rama.
October / November (Ashwin Amavasya)
Deepavali
The glorious Festival of Lights transforms our temple into a radiant spectacle of divine splendour. The entire temple complex is illuminated with thousands of traditional oil lamps and decorative lights. Special Lakshmi Pooja is performed, invoking the blessings of the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. The community comes together for celebrations that symbolise the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
April 14 (Chithirai 1)
Tamil Puthandu
The Tamil New Year is celebrated with great fervour, marking the beginning of a new cycle of hope and prosperity. The traditional Maanga Pachadi — a symbolic preparation made with raw mango, jaggery, neem flowers, and other ingredients representing life's varied experiences — is prepared and distributed. Special pujas and cultural programmes honour the rich Tamil heritage that our Samaj cherishes.
December (Margashirsha / Dhanu Shukla Ekadasi)
Vaikunta Ekadasi
One of the most sacred days in the Vaishnavite tradition — believed to be the day when the gates of Vaikunta (the celestial abode of Lord Vishnu) are opened. Devotees observe a strict fast and participate in special Vishnu worship, including Vishnu Sahasranama recitation and Vaikunta Dwara darshan, passing through a specially decorated entrance symbolising the gateway to the divine realm.
November (Aippasi / Kartik Shukla Sashti)
Skanda Sashti
A six-day festival celebrating the divine victory of Lord Murugan (Skanda) over the demon Surapadman, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. The festival includes special pujas, Kavadi attam, and the dramatic re-enactment of the cosmic battle. Devotees observe fasting and participate in the chanting of Skanda Sashti Kavacham and Tiruppugazh.
Performed Periodically (Last: April 2022)
Maha Samprokshana
The grand consecration ceremony — one of the most significant and elaborate rituals in temple tradition — performed periodically to re-energise the divine vibrations of the temple. The last Maha Samprokshana was performed in April 2022 after 15 years, involving several days of intricate Vedic rituals, Homams, and the sacred Kumbhabhishekam, where consecrated waters from the holy Kalasams are poured over the Rajagopuram and sanctum sanctorum.

Daily Bhajan Sessions
Soulful devotional singing sessions held daily at the temple, continuing the founding tradition of community bhajana that has been the heart of our Samaj since 1927.
Weekly Ramayana Parayanam
A weekly congregational recitation of the Ramayana — the sacred epic of Lord Rama — fostering devotion and reinforcing the dharmic values that guide our lives.
Weekly Vishnu Sahasranama
Recitation of the thousand divine names of Lord Vishnu — a powerful and sacred practice that bestows spiritual merit and invokes the Lord's boundless grace upon all participants.
Monthly Pradosham Pooja
Special pooja observed on the 13th day of every lunar fortnight (Trayodashi), dedicated to Lord Shiva. An auspicious twilight worship that removes sins and bestows divine blessings.
Monthly Sankatahara Chaturthi
Special pooja to Lord Ganesha on every Chaturthi, the fourth day of the waning moon. Sankatahara Chaturthi is observed to seek the blessings of Ganapathy for the removal of all obstacles and difficulties.
